11 injured after private bus rolls over

Puttur: The steering rod of a bus plying from Vittal to Puttur via Bullerikatte broke near Parladka on the outskirts on Thursday. The bus rolled over and fell on is side. Fortunately there were no pedestrians around nor were any vehicles approaching from other side. As it was a slope, there could have been heavy casualties.

Eleven passengers sustained minor injuries. Among them are Akkamma, Savita, Beefatima, Nebisa, Ravikala, Dakshayani, Raju Chandra, Shivappa, Balanna and Gopal.

Some of the injured were shifted to hospital in the assistant commissioner’s car and others in autorickshaws and other vehicles.

Traffic was affected for some time. The traffic police arrived and controlled the situation.
