17-year-old student killed in accident

Beltangady: A 17-year-old student from Bolija in Bandaru village was killed in an accident which occurred at Muriyala in Uruvalu village of Beltangady taluk on Tuesday March 29 morning.

The deceased is Kritik (17) from Bolija in Bandaru village. He who was riding a Honda Activa scooter and he died in the accident. Pillion rider, Rafiq (23) from Karinja Baitaru was seriously injured. Rafique has been admitted into a hospital at Mangaluru with grave injuries.

The two-wheeler was hit by a truck at Muriyala. Kritik, who got stuck inside the truck, was released from there with great difficulty, but by then he had died. He was a second PU student of Gurudev College, and had appeared for the last examination on Monday. He was on way to a house bought by his neighbour at Karinja Baitaru in a scooter belonging to the latter.

A case stands registered about the accident in Puttur traffic police station.
