2 workers die as mud caves in

Puttur: Two labourers lost their lives when mud caved in all of a sudden during the construction works of a commercial complex building at Nellikatte in Puttur Town Police Station limits on Tuesday morning.

The mishap occurred close by the KSRTC bus stand in the town. In all four labourers of north Karnataka origin were trapped beneath the soil.

Two of them were rescued and hospitalised. The other two had breathed their last by the time soil was excavated. The condition of the injured is also said to be critical.
