Udupi: A 22-year-old youth committed suicide by jumping in well on Friday, July 29. The youth has been identified as Kiran Acharya (22), son of Umesh Acharya, resident of Kurkal gram Chokkadi. He was suffering from mental tension for the last few days. He was under medical treatment for his illness.
He
was a post graduate student in a college at Shirva last year. He was recovering from his mental ailment informed his family members.
However all of a sudden, he jumped in the well on Friday night, July 29 when the family members were sleeping.
When his family members did not find him till 1 am in the wee hours of Saturday, July 30, they started searching for him and found his mobile on the wall of the well. Though they got an indication of his jumping in the well, they could not see in the dark.
Fire brigade came in the morning on July 30 and lifted the dead body.
