32-year-old honey trapped; assaulted and looted

Bantwal: A 32-year-old man was seriously assaulted and robbed of his jewellery and cash as part of honey trap at Vittal on Saturday. Mohammed Hanif, who is working as the supervisor in a quarry in Moodbidri is the victim.

Hanif had come to know a girl through Facebook and became close to her. The girl called Hanif at midnight on Saturday and said that she needs money as her mother is sick. She sent her friend with Hanif saying that she will follow in her two-wheeler.

Hanif went with the girl in his car. As they entered the house of Hanif at Kudthamugeru, a group of six men came in a Tavera car and entered the house. They tied Hanif, seriously assaulted him, made the girl stand naked with Hanif, clicked their video and photos and demanded Rs 5 lac ransom from Hanif.

As Hanif did not give the money, they decamped with seven sovereign gold, passport, watch and mobile phone from the cupboard and swift car of Hanif.
