34-year-old jumps into river and ends her life

Mangaluru: Nayana (34), a resident of Kolavoor near Bajpe ended her life on Monday May 30 morning by jumping into Gurpur river.

Nayana had left home, telling her family members that she wanted to visit the city. She directly went to Gurpur river instead and plunged into it. Some people engaged in sand mining, who saw this incident, rushed to the spot in their boat and brought the lady out of water. She was being taken to Wenlock Hospital in the city when her end came.

Nayana had come to the spot a few days back too with the intention of committing suicide. After some people who suspected her intentions called Bajpe police, policemen reached the spot and stopped her from executing her plan. They had escorted Nayana back to her home. It is said that Nayana was suffering from some kind of psychological problems.
