3rd National level open Invitational Karate Championship 2016 inaugurated

Udupi: Karate is the art to safeguard one from physical attack. It is the art of safe specially for women, said Sri. Sri. Laxmivara Theeratha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt, Udupi.

He was speaking on the occasion of inaugural address during two days 3rd National level open invitational Karate Championship, which organized by Kobudo Budokan Karate – Do Karnataka of Udupi held at the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium, Ajjarkad, Udupi on 23rd January, 2016.

Swamiji said that all castes and creed this art of Karate practicing and learning Karate. If we could look back the history the Buddhists monks to get safe from the animals in particular used to practiced the Karate. The government should support to the art of Karate. He called children to practice Karate, so that it will useful for their future life.

Earlier Harsha Bhagwath took the oath from the Karate aspirants. Sri Sri Sri Laxmivaratheertha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt inaugurated the occasion by lighting the lamp. G. Shankar of G. Shankar Family Trust, Shobha Karandlaje MP Udupi Chickmaglur constituency, K. Raghupathy Bhat former MLA, P. Yuvaraj President of Udupi CMC., Dr. Roshan Kumar Shetty of Asst. Director, Youth Empowerment and Sports Dept, Udupi, Ravi Kumar Udyavara Chief Instructor KBK, Gangadhar Suvarna, Businessman, Kaup, Suraj Poojary Businessman, Malpe, Jeetendra Shetty, Social worker, Udyavara, Santhosh Suvarna organizer and Asst. Chief Instructor KBK, Dr. Krishna Prasad of Prasad Netralaya, Udupi, Vidyavantha Acharya Principal of Sharada Residential School, Kunjibettu, Paramesh of Andhra Pradesh and other among were present on the dais.

K. Udaykumar Shetty Hon. President of Welcome Committee was presided the occasion. Ravi Kumar Udyavara gave the introduction speech. Santhosh Suvarna welcomed the gatherings.

G. Shankar during in his speech pointed out the Karate art need to study at the school level and both central and state governments should support for the development of Karate. He promised support for the growth of Karate.

Shobha Karandlaje also spoke during the occasion and asked that every school should train and teach karate for their future need. Women should take advantage to study the Karate for their safety. She was happy to see most of the girl and women going for the study of Karate.

Vidhyavantha Acharya and Dr. Krishna Prasad were felicitated during the occasion by the guests on the dais. Meanwhile guruvandhana also held to the honor to Paramesh of Andhra, Ravi Kumar Udyavara and Vishwanatha Kotian of Udyavara.

Swamiji distributed the certificates to the winners of some of the categories of the Kobudo Budokan Karate. The Valedictory function will be held on Sunday, 24thJanuary.
