60th Kannada Rajyotsava held at Udupi with grand and colorful celebrations

Udupi: The District Administration and district level Kannada Rajyotsava Celebration Committee, Udupi district celebrated 60thKannanda Rajotsava in a grand manner at Mahatma Gandhi Bayalu Rangamandira, Beedinagudde in Udupi on Tuesday, November, 2016.

District in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj presided over the celebration. The programme began with State hymn by the school children. Pramod Madhwaraj hoisted the state flag which T. Venkatesh IAS, District Commissioner and President of district level Rajyothsava Celebration committee and K T Balakrishna District Police Superintendent were present.

Pramod Madhwaraj received the guard of honour from district armed police, school children and others along with Police Band.

Addressing the gathering Pramod Madhwaraj said that it is the great day for the people of Kannada and festive day. It is the day of the unification of Kannada speaking people from various areas. At 1973 former popular chief minister late Devaraj Urs renamed the Mysore State as Karnataka.

He said for the unification of Karnataka state lot of people had given their utmost labour and fighting history which their contribution the Karnataka state developed with their sacrifice for the Kannada state. Due to the sacrifice of Aloor Venketrao, today Karnataka become very strong. For the unification of Karnataka Siddappa Kambali, H. Narayana Shastri, Guddappa Hallikeri, R. H. Deshpande, Kengal Hanumantharao, Gorur Ramaswamy, S. Nijalinagappa role we should remember. The contribution of undivided Dakshina Kannada one can never forget. Karnad Sadashivarap, B. S. Kakkilaya, B. V. Kakkilaya, Manjeshwar Govind Pai, K. B. Ginaraj Hegde, N. U. Paniyadi, Shivaram Karanth had contributed a lot for the development of our Kannada land. Their dream fulfilled and become a greater Karnataka state.

The role of Karnataka was for the development of the country in various fields like politics, cultural development and others. Even though here in Udupi district Tule language in practice, Kannada language used in officially. The most popular “Yakhagana’ traditions achieved a lot even in abroad. Kannada can be used in internet, facebook, twitter and other electronic media. The state government succeeded in using Kannada cent percent in all administrative and educational institutions.

He said in Udupi district succeeded to select 1,61,889 Anthodaya and BPL card holders which 7,55,514 BPL families were benefited from the Annabagya scheme of the government. Along with that for the distribution of salt, Kerosene and oil every month Rs. 211 lakh were spent.

For the social security project around 1,21,276 beneficiaries get a pension and for that since three years Rs. 242.72 crore released. With the over the counter system, the public can avail easily the certificate of caste and income easily wit out waiting in Taluk offices. For the various records one can go to their village Panchayats rather in Taluk offices, he said.

Udupi district level Kannada Rajyotsava Award 2016 distributed to twenty seven achievers during the occasion and awards also given to Tulukoota Udupi, Sri Vishnu Bhajana Mandali and Bramavara Sports Club, Brahmavara.

On the occasion cultural programmes held by Mukund Kripa English Medium School, government Higher Primary School Volakkadu, St. Francis Xavier’s English Medium School, Udyavara and Indrali English Medium School, Udupi.
