9,93,415 voters are eligible to vote in Udupi district

Udupi: Speaking to media persons at DC office, Priyanka Mary Francis, Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district said that there are total 9,93,415 voters in five legislative assembly constituencies in the district.

In Byndoor constituency there are total 2,22,427 voters, out of that 1,08,154 men, 1,14,259 women and 14 others. In Kundapur constituency there are total 1,99,575 voters, out of that 95,927 are males, 1,03,648 females, In Udupi constituency there are 2,07,431 voters, out of that 1,00,535 are males, 1,06,892 females and 4 others, In Kaup constituency there are total 1,82,972 voters, out of that 87,020 are males, 95,948 females and two others while in Karkala Constituency there are total 1,81,010 voters, out of that 86,714 are males, 94,294 are females and two others.

She said that in regard to the election, there are 6354 officials are appointed and one round of training has given to the officials and on 6th May, other round of training will be provided.

Meanwhile there are illegally 13,207.40 ltr of alcohol captured by the Excise officials and 251.57 ltr of alcohol recovered by police department and there are 150 cases were registered in the police stations in the district. There are 35 First Information Registered (FIR) in the various police stations in Udupi district, she said.
