Udupi: Student Islamic Organization (SIO) of India, Udupi, in association with Dr A. V. Baliga Memorial Hospital organized ‘A Critical Review on my Lifestyle’ a walkathon campaign from Jodukatte on December 20th to create awareness against the social evils like smoke, alcohol and drug.  Students in large numbers participated in the walkathon.

Aslam Haikadi SIO campaign convener inaugurated the walkathon campaign. The students shouting the slogans against the social evils walked through Court road, Diana circle, K. M. Road then to the service bus stand. They also distributed awareness pamphlets to all.

Mr. Haikadi, while addressing the students said that they are the future of the country and in India many are lead to the wrong path because of various reasons. He added that it is the responsibility of everyone to lead students on a right path. The students at young age find pleasure in drinks, smokes, drugs and blue films et cetera. These things create an abnormality and a kind of violence in them. Development of the country is dependent on a good citizen and only a good and humane citizen can lead a good country. Every youth should be physically and mentally healthy to keep him calm and focused, he added.
