Brahmavar: At a time when youth goes behind electronic gadgets, junk food and fashion, here is a youngster by name Prashanth who has a dream to construct a house for an elderly couple without children in Chanthar village.Prashanth who is a final year BA student of Brahmavar based Crossland College shared his concern with the Principal and faculty members.” Iam so happy that my Principal and Teachers immediately agreed and encouraged me to take the initiative’ Prashanthacknowledges.

The NSS unit under Prof.K.K.Gurumurthy and Mr.Naveenkumar took it as their project.Prashanth went around met a number of alumni and well wishers and requested not for money but to give construction materials. Some offered sand, bricks, laterite stones etc.The students cleared the area and are waiting for the license from the Panchayath.

During this Ganesha festival, he along with his friends collected money from the public through vesha and handed over Rs7000 to the Principal.”A rare gesture from a youngster, very hard to find in this world at present. I feel proud of Prashanth for coming up with this idea and trying hard to make it possible.

We are happy that we could inculcate human values in our students through our human values development sessions, as we try not to produce justemployable graduates but young men and women with strong human values. He has proved that an individual can make a difference in the lives of others. This is what our Founder late Dr. C.T. Abraham dreamt”, the Principal remarked. The members of Crossland family have assured their financial help towards the project.
