ANKURAM 2020- By student’s council of Psychology department (Certus Nova)

The psychology students association of the PG Centre Certus Nova, hosted a fest for their students ‘ANKURAM’, open to all students from the college and outside.

The MC for the fest was Ms Ann Tharakan. The welcome address for the fest was given by Ms Balakrishna, the president of the students association.

A welcome dance was also showcased by students of the department depicting the importance of nature, and how the tree helps the sapling to grow under difficult circumstances. This is a metaphor for how psychologists have been helping people who are in need of help.

The presidential address was given by the principal of the college, Sr Dr Jeswina AC. She gave a complimentary speech noting the works of the Psychology department on the said event and the events they had put up prior. She gave a motivating speech by specifying that success and failure is a part of life and that participating is what is important.

The chief guest Mr Akshara Damle, a renowned personality in the field of Psychology and a TedEx speaker, speaks about the importance of mental health and its taboos. He also talked about the trending uses of AI (Artificial Intelligence) in the field of counseling and emphasized on problems that could happen as a result of AI counseling.

Vote of thanks was given by Raajath Naik, event manager of Certus Nova, giving thanks to the dignitaries and participants for participating and making the event successful.
