Accountant sentenced for maintaining wrong accounts

Bantwal: The senior civil judge of JMFC court has sentenced a person and imposed fine on him after finding him guilty of the charges of maintaining wrong accounts with the intention of misleading the concerned and causing losses.

Neelappa Naik, a resident of Puttur has been found guilty in the case. During the period from June 1998 to November 2001, Naik was working as supervisor in the Bharat Petroleum Corporation's Bobbekeri office at Vittal. Canara Sales Corporation managing director and chairman, Laxminarayan V had filed a private complaint in the court on December 26, 2001, accusing Neelappa of defrauding the employer firm by maintaining fraudulent accounts.

The court, which conducted hearing, found the accused guilty and passed the above judgement.
