Mangaluru: All College Students’ Union will stage a hunger strike in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on August 23 to condemn the inordinate delay in the investigation into the Alva’s student Kavya death case.
Shashwath Kottari, President of the Union alleged that investigation officers were not furnishing any information on the progress of the investigation. He also warned of severe protest by the Union in the days to come if the authorities fail to respond by August 31.
Student leader Pratik Poojary who also spoke, expressed suspicion as to whether the accused in Kavya case is being shielded. Neither the district administration nor the government has responded to the demand to provide Rs 25 lakh compensation to Kavya family, he said.
