Puttur: St Philomena Pre University College Puttur celebrated its Annual Day on December 1, 2015 in Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall of the College.

Addressing the gathering the Chief Guest of the function Prof. Rajashekhara Hebbar, Principal, Dr Shivarama Karantha Government First Grade College Bellare said, “Teachers are known to be the second parents. Parents provide us moral knowledge and teachers provide us rest of the knowledge necessary for living and knowing the world.”

Rev Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Campus Director and Prof. Leo Noronha, Principal, St Philomena College were the guests of honour. Rev. Fr Alfred J Pinto, Correspondent presided over the function.

Various best out going student’s award, General Proficiency Prizes and achievers in sports, academic, cultural, NCC were awarded on the occasion. Faculty members Mr. Prashanth Bhat, Mr. Sanjay S, Mr. Prakash D’Souza, Mr. Anil Kumar and Mrs. Ashwini presented the details of the achievers.

Dr Sooryanarayana, President, PTA and Mr. Jayaprakash Bhandary, Vice President, Alumni Association were present on this occasion. Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo, Principal of the college presented the annual report. The Directors of Students’ Council Mr. Bharath Kumar A and Mrs. Usha Yashavanth A coordinated the programme.

Mr. Satwik and group with their prayer song invoked God to shower his choicest blessings. The president of the Students’ Council Mr. Ryan Maclean D’Souza welcomed the gathering. The secretary Mr. Fran Mascarenhas Introduced the chief guest. The joint secretary Ms. Dechamma proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Viraj D’Souza compered the programme.

In the afternoon session, cultural programme was organised. In the colourful show, students brought to limelight their creative and artistic talents.
