Mangaluru: ICYM Milagres unit organized Baal Milar – 2016 and Nach Milar Nach on November 27 at Milagres Jubilee Hall. Fr Anil Roshan Lobo inaugurated the programme by spray painting the Baal Milar logo.
A variety of question-answer sessions and talent round was conducted for the children of 3 to 5 years. Nach Milar Nach, a duet dance competition was conducted for the age group of 5 to 10 years and 11-15 years. Winners of Baal Milar – 2016, Nach Milar Nach and the photo contest were felicitated and all the participants were given a token of appreciation. The programme concluded with a message by the parish priest of Milagres Church, Fr Valerian D’Souza.
‘Bible Quiz – 2016’ diocesan level quiz competition was also held on November 27 at the Milagres College auditorium. 37 parishes of the diocese participated in the competition. Sr Cecilia Mendonca, provincial superior, Bethany Convent was the chief guest. "The Word of God is a strong instrument for every Catholic," said M P Noronha, diocesan pastoral council secretary, speaking on the occasion, as the guest of honour.
‘Bible Quiz – 2016 was inaugurated by placing flowers on the Bible and by incensing the Bible. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, professor of St Philomena College, Puttur conducted the quiz.
The quiz was conducted in two rounds, where all 38 parishes underwent the written round and 10 teams were selected. The final round for 10 teams was conducted. Bejai, Urwa and Hospet were awarded first, second and third place respectively.
First place winners were awarded with Rs 25,000, second place winners with Rs 15,000 and third place with Rs 10,000. Qualifying 10 teams were awarded Rs 2000 each.
The quiz was witnessed by a huge audience and was well appreciated by all.
