Manipal: Manipal University has recently added bicycle patrols to the already existing security measures to provide everyone on the campus a safe and secure environment. “We plan to monitor security closely with the help of bicycles,” said Dr Prabhudev B Mane, chief of security at the university.

The idea of using bicycles is to facilitate movement to cover more areas on the campus. Thirty bicycles have been issued to the security guards. Campus patrol already has bike riders and patrol cars. It will also encourage students to use bicycles on the campus.
