Car hits road barricade, one dead

Sullia: A car hit a road barricade at Jyothi circle and as a result, one died and three sustained injuries on Sunday, August 28.

The deceased is Palaniyappa (62) from Koramangala in Bengaluru. He was travelling with his family in a car belonging to Guruprasad to Puttur to get treatment for some ailment. When the car reached Jyothi Circle here, it hit a barricade while avoiding a vehicle which suddenly came in the opposite direction. Palaniyappa was injured seriously as his head hit the dash box in the car.

A rickshaw driver immediately took Palaniyappa to a hospital, but he was declared brought dead. His wife Sumathi and family members Suresh and Lakshmi got injured in the accident and were treated in a hospital.
