Car injures homeguard

Udupi: In an unfortunate incident, a car hit and injured a home guards personnel posted on duty along with police personnel at Kaup Polipu junction on national highway 66. venkataraman Servegar (55), resident of Mallaru Kombagudde near Kaup, was injured in this incident.

When Venkataramana along with some other police personnel, was discharging duty at Polipu junction, the staff got information from the control room in the town about the suspicious-looking movement of a red car approaching the junction. Servegar signalled the red car as it approached the junction to stop, but those in the car hit him with the vehicle before speeding away.

Venkataramana, who suffered injuries in his head, body and limbs, fell on the road. He was brought to the town for treatment.
