Mangaluru: The investiture ceremony of Carmel School was solemnised. Honourable chief guest for the propitious occasion was Sr Maria Kripa, retired professor of Economics, St Agnes College and at present Superior of St Ann’s Convent and joint secretary of St Ann’s Institutions.

The theme of the oath taking ceremony was LOO-SIR (to shine). The theme reflected the desire of the Student Council to excel and shine as leaders with a vision. It also articulates the Student Council’s aspiration to act as a guiding light and role model for the Carmel family.

The event commenced with a meaningful prayer service. Sr Sarika, the principal introduced the chief guest Sr Maria Kripa to the audience and congratulated the council members. She extended a supporting hand to the Student Council for the smooth running of the school.

The School Council ministers were conferred upon with sashes and badge- a symbolic representation of handing over the responsibility to the new office bearers.

Watching them don the mantle of liability was a moment of pride for the Carmel family. The principal then administered the oath to the leaders.

Pledging solidarity, collaboration, harmony and support to the new cabinet in carrying out their responsibility and extending their best wishes to them, Carmel choir sang a felicitation song.

Calida Lobo, the school captain delivered her acceptance speech promising to abide by the qualities of a true leader in preserving, protecting and defending the honour of the school.

The chief guest imparted her divine thoughts with a difference on leaders 'Be a Beacon of Light'.

The students were all motivated and energised by the address.
