Catholic Sabha Mount Rosary Church unit celebrated Silver Jubilee with fervor

Udupi: Mount Rosary Church unit of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh ®, celebrated Silver Jubilee on 6th December, 2015. The celebrations began with thanksgiving Eucharistic mass at Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte, Kallianpur which concelebrated by Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Dean of Kallianpur and Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur along with Rev Fr. Philip Nerry Aranha, Spiritual Director of Mount Rosary unit and Rev Fr. Mahesh D’Souza, Assistant Parish Priest of Mount Rosary.

During his homily, Fr. Stany B. Lobo said that every successful programme needs well preparedness and rehearsal. He appreciated the role and active participants in various social organizations by the Mount Rosary unit of Catholic sabha.

After the mass, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo released bunch of 25 baloons to the air on the occasion of Silver Jubilee celebrations.

The reception programme of the Silver Jubilee celebrations was held at Mount Rosary Church Hall. Santhosh Cornelio, President of Catholic Sabha Mount Rosary Unit presided the occasion. Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, Rev Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, Rev Fr. Philip Nery Aranha, Parish Priest, Rev Fr. Mahesh D’Souza, Thomas Quadros of Glowin Star Academy chief guest and resource person, William Machado and Valerian Fernandes President and Vice President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh Central Committee, Gilbert Lewis Kallianpur, Deanery Catholic Sabha, President, Luke D’Souza, Convener of the programme and other officials were present on the dais.

During his message, Bishop said that to increase membership in Catholic Sabha in order to serve better for our society. He called to take strong leadership through Catholic Sabha for the awareness on political and other issues in favour of our community. Catholic Sabha to take active leadership to promote services in governmental top offices like IAS, KAS, IPS etc. by the community members. Catholic Sabha take leadership to support political and awareness on social benefits. Our community members should indulge actively in other social organizations like Lions Club, Rotary and others.

During his address, Dr.Thomas Quadros outlined the need of Catholic Sabha in present scenario. He recapped the work done by Catholic Sabha after 1979 when Catholic Sabha established with the purpose.

Rev Fr. Philip Nery Aranha, Rev Fr. Mahesh D’Souza and Dr. Jery Vincent Dias were felicitated during the occasion for their services for the church. All the past Presidents and secretaries of the catholic sabha unit were honored. Meanwhile, leaders of the church, leaders of social organizations, various conveners’, people’s elected representatives, institutions heads and others were felicitated and honored during the occasion.

Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, William Machado and others spoke during the occasion. Earlier, Santhosh Cornelio welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Quadros, Secretary delivered vote of thanks. Thomas Cornelio and team compered the programme. Cultural programme were held after the stage programmes.
