Catholic Sabha felicitate meritorious SSLC students of Udupi Diocese

Udupi: Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh and Sashakt Samudaya Seva Trust jointly organized felicitation program for the Udupi Diocese meritorious students in order to get support and guidance to higher studies and to get top governmental jobs. The function was held for the students who secured distinction in SSLC previous exam along with their parents at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall on Sunday, 20th July, 2014.

The program started with invocation prayer by Milagres choir group and Catholic Sabha Milagres Unit with prayer by Rev Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha Central Committee. Dr. Gerald Pinto Convener of the program & former President of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh welcomed the gathering. Two meritorious students along with Bishop and other dignitaries on the dais inaugurated the program with lighting the lamp. Meanwhile, Henry Menezes of Pamboor and Irwin D’Souza of Shirva who had been appointed as President and Secretary of Manasa Pamboor were also honoured during the occasion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Former Indian Naval Commodore Jerome Castalino of Moodubelle and M.Vincent D’Souza of Mudarangady, Additional Commissioner of Transport Bangalore were the resource person of the occasion. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of Milagres Cathedral gave introduction talk and blessed the occasion.

Newly elected Member of Legislative Council of Karnataka Government Ivan D’Souza, formerly of Mudarangady parish was felicitated by Bishop Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo with a shawl, garland and fresh fruits. Meanwhile, Bishop was felicitated by Ivan D’Souza on the occasion. During in his speech, Ivan D’Souza recapped his way to the present position in his career. CYM and catholic sabha gave foundation for his growth of leadership qualities.

Bishop of Udupi Diocese and other dignitaries on the dais felicitated around 120 meritorious students who secured more than 85% in SSLC with gold medal. Speaking on the occasion, Bishop gave important tips for the preparation of bright a future in the career. Life of one can be succeeded when there is aim, target, hard work and proper planning in earlier career.

Dr. Gerald Pinto gave some of the guidance for the successful career and he offered all support to the meritorious students and the parents. Some of the parents as well as students witnessed the outcome of the successful programme on the occasion. Around 120 students along with their parents of five deaneries of Udupi diocese took active participation in the function.

Kiran Elroy Crasto President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh Central Committee presided and conducted the programme. Along with the Bishop, Com. Jerome Castalino and M. Vincent D’Souza resource persons, Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Rev Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha Central Committee, Hubert Lewis Kallianpur Deanery Catholic Sabha President, Felcy Lewis Milagres unit President, Dr. Gerald Pinto Convener of the program and Veronica Cornelio of the Sashakt Samudaya Seva Trust were present on the dais.
