Cattle smuggling vehicle meets with accident

Bantwal: A container lorry in which cattle were being smuggled has overturned near the Anchikatte curve in Vagga of Bantwal Rural Police Station limits on Monday morning.

The mishap took place at around 6 am when it came to light that there were 9 bullocks and 5 buffaloes in the vehicle. One bullock died in the mishap. The driver and others who were in the vehicle have fled the place fearing action against them.

SP Ravikanthegowda has said that a special squad has been formed to nab the cattle smugglers.
