College Students should improve their Research Mentality - Prof. K. Byrappa, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University

Udupi: The college students should improve their Research mentality during their academic studies in the college. The Mangalore University providing any kind of guidance for the research programme, said Prof. K. Byrappa Hon. Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University.

He was speaking to the College Day Celebrations of Milagres College, Kallianpur here on Friday, 18th March, 2016 at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall, Kallianpur. He said that Mangalore University Libraries have on line facilities available, so that students of the university can take advantage to read the books through on line facilities.

The programme started with an invocation by Ms. Jeevitha and group. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions welcomed the gathering. Dr. Nery Cornelio placed long academic report of the college for the year. Meanwhile, Vilton H. Saldanha, Secretary of Students Welfare Council placed the report of the SWC.

Three Rank holders in Post Graduate degree of MSW were felicitated during the occasion where reciprocation was held by Sr. Lilly Pushpa, Coordinator of Department of MSW. Meanwhile, staff achievers, NCC achievers and sports achievers were felicitated by the guests on the dais.

Minor Research Project book was released during the occasion by Prof. K. Byrappa. Endowment prizes and proficiency prizes were distributed during the occasion. Meanwhile, academic competitions and NSS prizes were also distributed.

In his presidential address, Rev Fr. Dr. Lawrence D’Souza, Secretary of Catholic Educations Society of Udupi (CESU) gave his address on discipline and studies. Smt. Savitha K. Hebbar, Principal of Milagres PU College,Director of SWC, Mrs. Cynthia D’Silva, Shekar Baikady, Students council officials were present on the dais.

Mrs. Shylet Mathias, Secretary of Staff Council delivered vote of thanks. Various cultural programmes were held by the students and college day was celebrated with lots of fun and entertainment.
