Puttur: Department of Commerce, St Philomena College Puttur organized an intercollegiate Commerce Fest ‘AMBIORA 2017’ on February 1, 2017 in college auditorium.

Mr. Bhaskara Rai, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Puttur Division inaugurated the Fest and said, ‘Soft skills must be acquired by each and every student in the institutions of higher learning without which, the student is regarded as incompetent in the real world.’

Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Campus Director was the chief guest. In his address he said, ‘We must use our energy for constructive purpose.’

Prof. Leo Noronha, Principal of the college in his presidential address said, ‘Creativity is more important than knowledge.’

Prof. Maxim Carl, HOD of the Department graced the occasion. Dr Herbert Nazareth, Convenor of the Fest welcomed the gathering. Mr. Abhishek Padiyar, Student Co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Pavana compered the programme.

‘AMBIORA 2017’ consisted of Who am I?, Product Launch, The Best Manager, The Business Quiz, and Finance. The students from 11 colleges affiliated to Mangalore University have participated in these events.

In valedictory function, Prof. Leo Noronha, Principal of the college felicitated the prize winners. S D M College of Business Management, Mangalore bagged the overall championship and Canara College, Mangalore secured the Runners up trophy. Ms. Josvita Lorraine Lobo welcomed the gathering. Mr. Abhishek Padiyar, Student Co-ordinator presented the details of prize winners. Prof. Maxim Carl, HOD of the Department proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Thilak compered the programme.
