Mangaluru: The upcoming gram panchayat elections are not being held on party lines. However the political parties are busy fighting. District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai slammed the BJP and said that Congress has filed a complaint with the deputy commissioner against the BJP.

Addressing a press meet on Monday May 25, Rai said that BJP is violating the election model code of conduct by distributing pamphlets which list the achievements of one year of Modi-led government

Rai also criticized union government and targetted Modi. He said, " Modi promised of getting black money to India in 100 days. Where is the black money now? What about the fuel prices? They have not been reduced in spite of the reduction in the price of crude oil to 65 dollars a barrel in the international market."

He also alleged that the union government is not sanctioning grants for various programmes introduced by the erstwhile UPA government.
