Udupi: Under the leadership of “Proclamation & Evangelization” Commission, Diocese of Udupi along with the Kallianpur Deanery and Mount Rosary Church, Kallianpur organized deanery level convention of the Missionary of the childhood Association for Children helping Children at Mount Rosary Church Millennium Hall, Santhekatte, Kallianpur on Sunday, 3rd April, 2016.

The Children from 4th standard to 10th standard, along with conveners of the six parishes of Kallianpur Deanery (Milagres Cathedral, Mount Rosary Santhekatte, St. Ann’s Thottam, Little Flower Kemmannu, Sacred Heart Kolalgiri and Holy Family Brahmavar) excluding Petri and Barkur parishes participated in the Eucharistic celebrations at 9.30 am which was concelebrated by His Lordship Bishop Rt. Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo along with Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Rector of Milagres Cathedral and Dean of Kallianpur and Rev Fr. Henry Mascarenhas, Spiritual Director of the commission, Kallianpur Deanery.

After the mass, the convention started with an invocation prayer and Bishop inaugurated the occasion by lighting the lamp. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Dean of Kallianpur deanery, Rev Fr. Henry Mascarenhas, Spiritual Director of the commission of Proclamation and Evangelization, Kallianpur Deanery, Rev Fr. Vincent Crasta Convener of the commission, Diocese of Udupi, Rev Fr. Philip Nery Aranha, Host and parish priest of Mount Rosary, Treza Fernandes, Convener of commission of Kallianpur Deanery, Grace Machado, Henry Machado, Resource person and officials of the Childhood Association were present on the dais.

After the inauguration, Fr. Stany B. Lobo spoke during the occasion and conveyed to the children to take advantage of the convention with the motto of children helping children. We should try to be missionaries with ourselves.

Bishop pointed out some of the missions of children in the diocese and the parishes which were directed by the Pope. There will be three types of main missionaries under Pope like Missionaries of Infant, Missionaries of St Peter’s and Missionary Sunday. He called children that the spirit of missionary should conquer the heart of childhood.

Henry Machado and others were resource persons of the convention. Large number of children of Kallianpur deanery except Barkur and Petri churches participated in the children convention. Treza Fernandes welcomed the gathering and Henry Machado proposed vote of thanks. Bianca of Thottam parish compered the inaugural programme with fantastic one.
