Corporal punishment in school claims life of 11-yr-old girl

Kasargod: A 11-year-old girl died after she collapsed in school due to Corporal punishment. The incident came to light on Tuesday. The deceased us Ayesha Mehennisa (11), sixth standard student of school in Uppala.

Two weeks ago, a teacher had punished Mehennisa severely for not answering well in her exams. She collapsed in school and later was hospitalised. As her condition did not improve, Mehenissa was shifted to hospital in Mangaluru where she breathed her last.

The body has been shifted to Pariyaram Medical College, Hosiptal for autopsy. Case of unnatural death has been registered.
