Corporation Bank organises cleaning drive to mark world environment day

Mangaluru: In view of World Environment Day, Corporation Bank organised a cleanliness drive and a sapling planting programme at Tannirbhavi Beach on Sunday. President, Ramakrishna Mutt, Mangaluru, Swami Jitakamananda and Managing Director and CEO, Corporation Bank, Jai Kumar Garg, flagged off the cleanliness drive in the presence of executives and staff members of the bank.

Swami Jitakamananda accentuated the importance of cleanliness in everyday life. He said the habit of cleanliness should be cultivated in every human during the nascent stage. CEO Garg said it was a matter of concern that Mangaluru had slipped from its premier position in cleanliness in the Swachh Survekshan 2017.

In the backdrop of World Environment Day being marked on June 5, CEO Garg planted saplings at Tannirbhavi and called upon the participants to actively involve themselves in making the country cleaner and greener. Indeed hopes for betterment of the region is seen in these efforts for which all people must strive in the future.
