Creator of ’Angry Hanuman’ is back

Kasargod : After hitting the Indian streets by creating a maddening craze for his ’Angry Hanuman’ caricature, visual artist Karan Acharya is back in news and business. In his latest, Acharya has come up with a caricature of Ram, the Hindu god who is considered to be an incarnation of Vishnu, one among the trinities of Hinduism. Akin to his ’Rudra (angry) Hanuman’ caricature, the one on Ram too is turning out to be a hit on the social media.

Unlike the clean-shaven version of Ram that is portrayed in TV serials, Acharya’s creation presents him in a bearded avatar. Unlike the ’Angry Hanuman’ caricature that has become a rage on social media and a hit on vehicles, the caricature of Ram reflects a peaceful character.

During a rally in Mangaluru ahead of the Karnataka assembly election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had described Acharya as the "country’s pride".

Having learnt his lesson the hard way, he has now applied for copyright of his caricatures. His family has also started a company called Paridhi Media Works, which will use his artwork for merchandise items like T- shirts, posters and stickers.
