Kundapur, April 4: On the eve of the anniversary celebration, Catholic sabha Udupi Pradesh® of Kundapur unit organized a cricket tournament for boys and men and a throw-ball tournament for girls and women of above 18 years.

The dean of Kundapur deanery Rev Fr. Anil D’souza inaugurated the tournament by lighting the lamp and said, “The Catholic Sabha has organized such type of contest for the first time. Our physical stamina will be improved by participating in these types of competitions” he wished goodluck.

Wilson Almeida-The unit chief and one who extended much effort for the arrangement of the tournament welcomed all. 9 groups contested in the 30 yard tennis ball cricket tournamnet and at the end of the contest Lourd’s group bagged the first place and Fathima group won the second place. Anil D’Souza from Lourd’s group scored highest runs and wickets.

6 groups participated in the throw-ball tournament. Lourd’s group won the first place and Fatima group won the second place.

The designated president-Jacob D’souza compered the stage programme. Parish priest Rev.Fr. Paul Prakash D’souza, the secretary Shaila Almeida, Sunil D’souza and the judges of the tournament were present at the dais. The principal of St.Mary’s P.U college and Asst.Parish priest Rev Fr. Pravin Amrith Martis gave the commentary.
