‘Debt-Free Abhiyan’: Shri Vincent Furtado, Hirebyle, wins the Mercedes Benz Car

Mangaluru: Mandd Sobhann had undertaken a ‘Debt-Free Abhiyan’, to liberate itself from the huge burden of debts it has acquired, in the course of its cultural work. As a part of this Abhiyan, tickets of Rs. 10,000/- each were sold, around a brand new Mercedes Benz (A-Class 200 CDI) Car. The Concluding Ceremony of this Abhiyan and the Draw of the Car was held on, Jan. 31, 2017, at Kalaangann, Mangalore.

Winner of the prestigious President’s Medal, Shri Valentine D’Souza, A. C. P., Dakshina Kannada was the Chief Guest. He applauded Mandd Sobhann for its contribution to Konkani and assured them of his support. He then drew the Lucky Coupon of this high-voltage Draw.

The ‘Lucky Winner’ of the Rs. 30 lakh worth Mercedes Benz is Shri Vincent Furtado of Hirebyle, Chikmagalur, bearer of ticket number 0135.

Prior to the Draw, there was a beautiful 1-hour presentation of the Golden Hits of Mandd Sobhann, which was compered by Shri Titus Noronha.

Mandd Sobhann honoured Shri Valentine D’Souza on being conferred with the prestigious President’s Medal and for his meritorious service in the Police Department. All the Co-Sponsors, Part Co-Sponsors and all those who supported and helped Mandd Sobhann in the ‘Debt-Free Abhiyan’ were also honoured on the occasion.

Shri Roy Castelino, President, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy; Mandd Sobhann Gurkar, Shri Eric Ozario; President, Shri Louis J. Pinto; Vice President, Shri Stany Alvares; Secretary, Shri Kishore Fernandes and Treasurer, Shri Joel Pinto, were present on the dais.

Shri Victor Mathias conducted the proceedings.
