Mangaluru: The students of Electronics and Communication Department at Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mijar hosted a one day program “AGAMYA 2017” on 28th October to celebrate the uniqueness of Special Children of Saanidhya School, Mangalore.
The students of E&C at Alva’s conducted events like paper craft, painting, fun games and spent a day with the special students. The students also donated LED television to the school.
Established in the year 2003, Saanidhya special school aims at developing capabilities and talents of the differently- abled by providing comprehensive training and pre-employment experience with specially built comfortable residential facilities. This residential school consists of 160 students and 52 faculties and is run by Mr. Vasanth Kumar Shetty.
At AGAMYA 2017, the students of Saanidhya were the special invitees and they presented a play “Amar Jawan”, highlighting the sacrifice of our soldiers. The event was presided over by Principal AIET, Dr. Peter Fernandes who complimented the efforts of students in hosting such a great event. Dr. D.V Manjunatha, HOD Dept. of ECE, Dr. Praveen J, Dean Academics, Mrs. Suma, Assistant administrator, Saanidhya School, Mr. Nishanth Shetty and Mr. Sudhir Hegde, alumni were also present during the occasion.
Raina and Varshitha compered the programme. Shabaz welcomed the guests and Harshitha proposed vote of thanks.
