Different talent under Single roof

Udupi: A camp to train theatrical performance to different walks of life. Manipal Junior College, Manipal has organised a camp for ten days, which gives best opportunity to learn theatre art, from budding stars to experience hands. A unique experiment and best exposure to learn vanishing theatrical knowledge without age limit.

The camp is set from morning till night. Morning training will be given to 16-25 youth and Chinnari Thanda, after noon to the budding stars who practice - Preethiya Kalu’,Evening will be for 20 -55 who get training on improvement.

Dr Sripad Bhat, well known theatre director has arranged the camp and said that “we have participants include from the age group up to 52”. Ranga Sangitya set to give opportunity including women. It is an open stage to talents and wanted to leave a bench mark for the future generations.

Bhat said that even though in between modernism theatre has lost its important, there are people who still likes it the maximum. We need to protect our traditional theatrical form though new talent. Bhat added that State wide attempt is being made to introduce the experiment.

Ranga Sangitya concentrate only and only on theatre performance. Theatre is the basic educational instrument for any performance. Theatre performance also boost up the mind of younger once. As students are concerned academic education should not be, the only criteria to grow a child. Education should be beyond the prospect. “The world is open to them to explore for them” he added.

Stage shows ‘Preethiya Kalu’ and on ‘Papu Bapuvada Kathe’ would be performed on the last day of the camp. All the aspirants were looking anxious towards their performance.

The camp is set up from May 17 to 28. Under one roof, 4 camps are organised for 4 different categories, first one is for the children who is just entering to the world of drama. Nearly 45 students in the age group of 10-16 take part in ‘Preethiya Kalu’. Second group is by youth from 16 to 25 will perform a drama called Mahila Baratha’. Third one group is Chinnari Thanda by MJC students perform on ‘Papu Bapuvada Kathe’ training on Gandhi story. They have prior experience on theatre and performed ‘Hakki hadu’ and ‘Rakke kattuvira’. Fouth and final by age group 20 -55- anyone interested and experience attend the camp to get more training and improve their talent.
