‘Disha Udyoga Parva’ to be held on Feb 17

Mangaluru: With the collaboration of state government, district administration, CEOL and Alva's Educational Foundation, Moodbidri, a day-long job fair ‘Disha Udyoga Parva’ will be held on February 17 at Mangalore University campus.

Giving the details about the programme in a press meet held here on Monday, February 5, deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil said, “‘Disha Udyoga Parva’ is a special job fair for youths of the district, ably supported by the state government and private firms. Youths who have completed their 10th, PUC and degree can get the benefit of this job fair. Youths with engineering background who are in the final year of their respected streams cannot apply for this programme. The job fair will start at 8 am and candidates should bring 10 passport size photographs, resume and copies of marks cards. For registration and more information candidates can log onto the website www.mangaluruudyogamela.com. As part of this job fair, a day-long orientation class will be held at Government Polytechnic, Kadri on February 10 from 9 am to 5 pm."

More than 150 companies will recruit suitable candidates from the job fair. Companies from Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu have already shown their interest to participate in the programme. The companies include banking, IT, ITES, sales and marketing, hospitality, education and production etc. As many as 3,470 candidates can get jobs in this mega job fair. So far 1,168 candidates have already registered their names online. If any company wants to join in this event, they can register their details on the website. Government has sanctioned Rs 25 lac for this job fair. I urge all unemployed youths to participate in this fair,” he added.
