Dr. Devidas Bhat, felicitated by “Thonse Valaya Brahmana Samithi,”

Udupi-Kemmannu: On the occasion of 17th Anniversary of “Thonse Valaya Brahmana Samithi,” renowned doctor of Kemmannu Dr. Devidas Bhat, who completed 50 yrs of service in Kemmannu was felicitated in Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple, Kallianpur recently.

Along with his felicitation, “Pratibha Puraskara” and “Guru Vandana” program were also held on 14-9-2014.

Padukudru Vasudeva Rao who has completed his education in Tonse was one of the chief guests. Mr. Rao was a teacher at Kemmannu Government Fisheries High School. He was retired as the Principal of Christian PU College Udupi. He is also a good orator, writer and secretary of Rangabhoomi Udupi. The President of Udupi Taluk Brahmana Mahasabha Sri Narasimha Upadhyaya was also present on the dais.

The event was begun with a prayer. Along with the chief guests, President of the Samithi Sri Vasudeva Adoor and honorary president B, Ramananda Rao were also present on the dais. Sri B Ramananda Rao welcomed the gathering. Then the event observed 1 minute silence for the members who passed away in the year 2013-2014.

The Secretary Sri Hariprasad Rao presented the annual report and the Treasurer Sri Medhavi Undaru read out the financial statements of the Samithi for the year 2013-2014. Currently serving and retired teachers were recognized during the event. Students who have completed SSLC and PU in the year 2013-2014 were also honoured.

President Mr. Adoor announced the list of office bearers of the Samithi for the year 2015. Prof. Ramachandra Bhat and his wife were felicitated for completing 50 years of married life. Mr. M. Ajith Kumar introduced the couple to the gathering.

Dr. B. Devidas Bhat was felicitated along with his wife for completing 50 years of medical practice in Kemmannu. His clinic was inaugurated by the then MLA Late M. Madhwaraj Malpe on 21-2-1965. In these 50 years Dr. Bhat is rendering service as a family doctor for many families for 3 generations. Sri P. Madhava Rao read out the “Sanmaana Patra.” Sri Mohan Rao Koradcal gave vote of thanks. After some entertainment programs, snacks were provided to the members.
