Easter celebration at Holy Rosary Church Kundapur

Kundapur: Easter was celebrated in a grand scale at Holy Rosary Church, Kundapur. This grand celebration was divided into four parts. The first part was-the Easter candle was nailed with a sharp nail and was lit with a new fire to symbolize the new life, the Easter. This ritual was held at 7 pm in the open ground of the church. Rev Fr Anil Dsouza the parish priest of Kundapur performed this programme.

 

 

The devotees lighted other candles using this Easter candle and entered into the church with prayers. The prayers were offered under the leadership of Rev Fr Paul Prakash Dsouza. In the second part, there was reading of the word of God.

The guest priest Rev Fr Alban Dsouza in his message said, “The resurrection of Jesus is a dedicated life. We have received a light to change our lives through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The real and meaningful Easter can be celebrated when we change our lives and become good”.
In the third part Fr Praveen Martis converted the water into Holy water by the blessings of Almighty. The promise at the time of baptism was renewed. In the fourth part, there was a celebration of Holy Eucharist.

The Parish priest greeted the parishioners and thanked the devotees who assisted in this celebration. After the celebration there was an auction of goat to help poor children to continue their education.
