Mangaluru: The department of English organised a workshop on 'English Language and Literature' at Expert PU College, Valachil.

Swetha Suvarna HOD English department, Valachil delivered the welcome speech.

The workshop was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Prof Narendra L Nayak chairman, Prof Ramachandra Bhat principal Kodialbail, Dr N K Vijayan Karippal principal Valachil, Zita D’Souza HOD English department Kodialbail and Swetha Suvarna HOD English department Valachil were present on the dais.

Prof Narendra L Nayak addressed the teachers and guided them saying, “Perfect practice makes a teacher perfect. The English department is the most important department which is a role model for all other departments and a teacher needs to work hard to become the best teacher."

The first session was held by the resource person Prof Ramchandra Bhat who presented 'Community and Individual Theme' in I PUC and II PUC lessons. He said that as teachers of English we have to create an interest in the class by motivating the students.

Resource person Dr N K Vijayan Karippal principal Valacil motivated the teachers on the topic 'English Communication And Students’ Success Skills by Practical Approach'. He said that English is a language to communicate and communication is a skill and that it works for those who work at it.

The third resource person Shivappa S P lecturer in English, Valachil explained the question paper setting for I PUC and II PUC students.

Jasmine lecturer in English, Valachil compered and proposed the vote of thanks.
