Expert PU College Valachil celebrates Deepavali

Mangaluru: Deepavali, the festival of lights was celebrated at Expert PU College, Valachil in traditional verve and fervour.

Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman of Expert Educational and Charitable Foundation, inaugurated the celebration. Ushaprabha N Nayak, secretary and correspondent of Expert Educational and Charitable Foundation, Ustad Rafique Khan, trustee, Suresh Pai, trustee, Dr N K Vijayan, principal, Vidyasharadha G K cultural programme co-ordinator and Mohana, programme director graced the occasion.

The programme commenced with Ganesha Pooja amidst the recitation of bhajans and hymns.

This was followed by dandia dance competition for students, which witnessed the participation of 25 enthusiastic teams. Earlier in the
day, Deepavali lantern making competition was held and the wide variety of lanterns prepared by students were the cynosure of all
eyes.

Later, students launched over thousand sky lanterns lighting up the dark sky. A dazzling display of fireworks marked the end of the
celebration. The entire expert family partook of a special diwali dinner served thereafter.
