Express bus overturns near Hejamady

Udupi: Several passengers travelling in a Udupi-Mangaluru Express bus sustained injuries when the bus overturned near the mini bridge close by the Hejamady toll gate.

The mishap occurred when the driver of the bus tried to overtake another bus in utter haste. He lost control over the vehicle when he tried to avert collision with a lorry which had developed technical snag and was parked on the roadside.

The injured have been shifted to the private hospital at Mukka with the help of the police and local people. Padubidri police have registered a case.
