‘Extraordinary Ministers Day’ celebrated at Milagres Cathedral Hall

Udupi: The diocese here, celebrated its first-ever ‘extraordinary Ministers Day’ on the occasion of the Feast of Corpus Christi, organized by 'Divya Jyothi', the liturgical commission of the diocese on Sunday May 29 at Milagres Cathedral Hall, Kallianpur.

Corpus Christi is a Latin rite of celebrating the belief in the real presence of the body and blood of Jesus Christ in the eucharist.

Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo presided over the Holy Eucharistic celebration.

Chief guest Fr Stany B Lobo, rector, Milagres Cathedral inaugurated the half day session by lighting the lamps and gave away the addressal.

Dr Ronald Seravo, professor at the Jeppu Seminary was the resource person of the day. He elaborated on the pre-eminent topic 'Eucharist, a revelation for the followers of Christ'.

Fr Steevan D’Souza, director of Divya Jyothi, presided over the sessions and welcomed the gathered. Irene Pereira, representative from Udupi deanery proposed the vote of thanks. Shaila Fernandes compered the programme.

Around 257 extraordinary ministers from 47 parishes of the diocese participated in the event.
