FOA students raise funds for Asare at INSIG

Manipal: Fashion and Interior Design students of Faculty of Architecture collected a lakh of rupees for the welfare of ASARE, a home for the mentally challenged in Manipal, at a cultural programme, INSIG, held at the MIT quadrangle on Saturday.

INSIG, Unveil the Unexpressed, was held in connection with Autism Awareness Week observed from 2 April 2 to 8, 2016. Dr. Suma Nair, Director, Student Affairs inaugurated the event and congratulated the students for taking the initiative to address the cause.

The main attraction of the event was the fashion show bythe ASARE inmates. The clothes were designed and showcased by the students of Fashion Design, Faculty of Architecture. The students also gave a display of some of their designs. Prof. Nishant H Manapure, Director, Faculty of Architecture announced that the amount collected from the programme would be given for the welfare of ASARE.
