Family attacked with petrol bomb

Mangaluru: A family was attacked with petrol bomb on Friday night at Bastipadpi. The injured is Tharanath Yadav Panjikodi (58). He has been admitted to the hospital in Thokkottu with burn injuries on his left hand. His wife Vidya (45) and Mithun (10) are safe.

The miscreants threw petrol bombs through the ventilator around midnight. As Tharanath acted without any delay, his wife and son were saved. Damage to the house was also averted.

Tharanath is well known in the area for his social work and also for his anti ganja mafia stance. He is also a personal friend of food supplies minister U T Khader, who rushed to the hospital to meet Tharanath.

Ullal police have registered a case.
