Family who complained against Mayor goes missing

Mangaluru: The watchman’s family, which had complained against city mayor Kavitha Sanil of assault and threats, are not traceable. The family, which stays in the basement of the apartment where the mayor lives, has locked the door. They are not traceable for the past three days and we’re trying to locate them. Their cellphones are switched off.

The apartment on Bejai Church Road has appointed a new guard three days ago. The house alotted for the the guard was locked with a police notice stuck on the door. A note from the women’s police station states that Kamala, wife of Pundalika, is required for investigation/ mahazar based on the complaint registered by her on October 27 under Indian Penal Code Sections 323, 504 and 506.

Kamala had accused the mayor of beating her up in her room in the apartment on October 26. She alleged that Sanil was unhappy with her that her son had beaten the mayor’s daughter during Diwali celebrations. Kavitha had a filed a complaint with Barke police station that Kamala had issued a life threat to her daughter on October 20.
