Father Muller Medical College Hospital launches Orthovision Analyser

Mangaluru: Father Muller Medical College Hospital, added another feather in its cap by introducing new equipment ‘Orthovision’, from Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, USA on Thursday.

The equipment was blessed and inaugurated by Fr Richard Coelho, director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions. Dr Kirana Pailoor, in-charge Blood Bank officer and associate professor of Pathology welcomed the gathering and gave a brief description on the functioning of the equipment.

Orthovision Analyser works on the principle of Column Agglutination Technology. It can be used for automated blood grouping, crossmatching, Coomb’s test and antibody screening and identification. This fully automated equipment gives faster and accurate results as compared to the existing methods of testing.

Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, administrator, Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Fr Jeevan Sequiera, assistant administrator, Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Dr Jayaprakash Alva, dean, Father Muller Medical College, Dr Jayaprakash C S, head of Pathology department and faculty members were present.
