Father Muller Nursing holds hypertension awareness programme in Suratkal

Mangaluru: The final year students of Father Muller School of Nursing, General Nursing and Midwifery Course organised a health awareness programme on October 10 at 10.30 am. The objective of the programme was to motivate people to keep away from hypertension and its long term complications by keeping away from a sedentary culture.

U T Khader, minister for food and civil supply and in-charge of Chamarajanagar District presided over the event. He stressed on public health as ‘everyone’s’ responsibility. He strongly stated, "When humans go against nature, our health is lost to disease." He advised all the people to keep a track of their own health through regular health checkups, maintaining cleanliness, limiting stress in routine life and also making favourable lifestyle changes.

Tilakraj and Hayaz, corporators of Krishnapura area, Umar Abba, co-ordinator of Dharmasthala Development Scheme and Jasmine Sarita Vas, principal, Father Muller School of Nursing were present.

Shridhar Kotian, resident of Krishnapura area was felicitated for his contribution toward social development in the area.

The programme was organised by the Community Health Nursing Department faculty of Father Muller School of Nursing namely, Vidya Mohan, Sharon Pais, Ashunta D’Souza, Nirmala Trindad and Melita Lewis and Caroline Smitha. Around 300 people witnessed the programme.
