Fervor marks Founder’s Day at Silas International School

Udupi: Silas International School, on Saturday, September 30, celebrated 16 years of its journey towards excellence in education.

The 16th Founder’s Day commemorated the 71st birthday of its founder-president R S Maben.

The school had its humble beginnings in 2002 with just 200 students. Today the school has grown to have 850 students, and 100 teaching and non-teaching staff.

On the occasion principal Deirdra S Maben highlighted the significance of the day. “The chief aim of the school is to actively develop the ambition and potential of every student, be it academic or any other sphere. The school believes that a student can achieve anything with focus, perseverance and confidence,” she said.

Teachers who completed 15 years of service to the school were felicitated by president and trustee Rohini Maben.

Students who represented the schools in various competitions were awarded prizes by the president.

Students also presented a cultural programme with songs and dance
