Festival of lights ‘Deepavali’ celebrated at Expert PU College

Mangaluru: “Going from darkness to light and ignorance to wisdom is the specialty of Deepavali festival. Therefore love, faith and peace should grow among us. May Deepavali bring light in the lives of all,” said professor Narendra L Nayak, president of Expert group of Institutes.

He was speaking after lighting the lamp and inaugurating Deepavali festival celebrations at Kootakkala auditorium held by Expert PU College .

Life will be fulfilling if students include positive attributes in their duties. We should bring joy and light in the lives of others. Light is the sign of wisdom and we should reach our goal by hard work. Hard work is necessary to reach the goal,” he said.

Usha Prabha N Nayak, vice president of Expert Educational Institutes, chief guest of the occasion said, “We celebrate several festivals in our country. May Deepavali festival bring about good education and character in the lives of students! May they secure good marks in their approaching examinations! You should be good citizens of the country and role models to others. Students have become example to others by involving young children of Bala Samrakshana Kendra, Kutharpadavu.”

Children of Kutharpadavu Bala Samrakshana Kendra had arrived as special guests. Usha Prabha N Nayak handed over a donation of Rs ten thousand to them on the occasion.

Ankush N Nayak, old student of Expert PU College and director of information and technology department of Expert P U College, Professor Ramachandra Bhat, principal of Expert P U College, Niha Shekh, organizer of cultural programme, Zeta D’Souza, organizer of programme and others were present on the dais.

Kutharpadavu Bala Samrakshana Kendra children performed dance, college students presented cultural programme and Dandia dances. Winners of competitions were presented with prizes. Students Saniha and Tanmay compered the programme. Sathwik, cultural secretary of students association proposed vote of thanks.
