Udupi: Vaikunta Baliga College of Law, Kunjibettu here to be organized Advocate P. Shivaji Shetty Memorial first National Moot Court competition – 2016 on 9th and 10th April 2016 at College Auditorium, said Prof. Prakash Kanive, Principal of Vaikunta Baliga College of Law, Udupi.
He was speaking to media persons at Press Club Udupi on Thursday, 7th April, said that the college established in the year 1957 and one the great institution with a very good name. Due to the moot court competition there would be educational importance to lawyers during their professional service. The participants will arrive from various part of the country from different law colleges.
He said late P. Shivaji Shetty had earned a lot of names in the field of legal matters in the undivided D.K. district and he was the professor in the Vaikunta Baliga Law College and his role in the development of the college extremely appreciated. His wife was every year providing financial help to conduct a moot court every year in memory of late Shivaji Shetty.
During the inaugural function of first National Moot Court competition, Sri A. S. N. Hebbar Senior Advocate, Kundapur will the chief guest and Sri. K. Shashi Kiran Shetty, Senior Advocate of Bangalore and M. Seetharam Shetty, Senior Advocate, Mangalore and member of the college governing body will preside.
During valedictory function on 10th April at 3.30 pm Hon’ble Mr. Justice Raghavendra Chauhan, Judge, High Court of Karnataka will be the chief guest and Hon’ble Mr. Justice a. Muhamed Mustaque Judge, High Court of Kerala will be the guests of honour.Dr. Ravindranath Shanbaug Chiarman, Human Rights Protection Foundation, Udupi will preside.
During the press meet Mrs. Jayashri Shivaji Shetty, Dr. Nirmala Kumari and other among present.
