Former MLA's move HC regarding EVM malfunction

Mangaluru: Four former MLAs of the Congress who had suffered a shock defeat in the recent Assembly elections have moved the High Court expressing doubts about the EVMs.

JR Lobo, the defeated Congress candidate from Mangaluru South Constituency had moved the High Court blaming EVM for his defeat. Later, Mangaluru North constituency’s defeated Congress candidate BA Moidin Bava as also M K Somashekhar, the defeated candidate form Mysuru’s Krishnaraja constituency and Vasu from Chamaraja constituency have moved the Court on similar grounds.

Lobo was defeated by BJP’s Vedavyas Kamath by a margin of over 16,000 votes in Mangaluru South while in Mangaluru North Bava was defeated by BJP’s Dr Bharath Shetty.
